Malware bytes not updating
Dell Inspiron 5537 laptop, Windows 10 Home 64 bit version 1703, Avast Premier, Malwarebytes Premium. During the restart it seemed that Windows updates were being processed (no surprise on a Wednesday morning? When it came back up, MB was unable to start, saying "Unable to connect the Service".3.0.6 (I think) Got a notice this morning that a MB update was available. That has remained the same through several restart cycles.I've tried every thing I can think of, but nothing works.Does anybody else have the same problem and knows how to fix this?
Settings/System/About reports Windows 10 Home, Version 1703, Build 15063.483 The mouse cursor was extremely "twitchy" and difficult to control, it jumped all over the screen (NOT usual for this laptop and this mouse). I am afraid to restart the desktop machine (on which I am writing this) for fear the same will happen to it.Cured by switching the mouse off and then on again. Since Malwarebytes now seems OK, but the Windows update (or Secunia's perception of it) still appears messed up, I propose to continue that aspect (only) of the discussion at https:// . Had the laptop shut down over night (just asleep, closing the lid).Had a momentary power outage this morning, didn't affect the laptop. It won’t launch at start-up, and if you try to manually run it, you get some weird error about some memory location, blah-blah-blah, or something similar. If you try to uninstall Malwarebytes, you get the same error. If you try to install the same version – or even a newer version – you get the same error. This is a bit elaborate, but it works like a charm.
